2018: Digital awareness on safety and legacy

A partner for seven previous editions, Telecentre Danmark again was the Danish national partner for ALL DIGITAL Week 2018, as they find the campaign most important in promoting digital safety and raise awareness.

The two main topics for the ALL DIGITAL Weekm 2018 in Denmark were Cybersecurity and How to die on the internet. Telecentre-danmark placed focus on practical use, tuition as well as legal aspects and rights pertaining to these functions.

Telecentre-danmark produced tuition materials, organizes workshops/ conferences for ICT centres and local community groups in collaboration with partners, specifically:

  • produce brochures and workshops on safety and security.
  • Workshops and thematic days on “How to die on the internet” with special focus on social services
  • Produce with partner dk4 national TV network a 30-minute programme “How to die on the Internet”. Based on the success of two previous years and successful partnership with the national TV network, Telecentre-Danmark will again produce the programme that will be broadcasted during the campaign week and will be used later for tuition. Last year the programme was viewed by 1,2 mln people, at least the same is expected this year.

The target groups were the elder segment of the population.

The campaign was promoted through tc-danmark’ internet site, newsletters, YouTube, press releases and TV. All materials are available on www.tc-danmark.dk as well as through local ICT centres.

Together with its 30 partners, Telecentre-Danmark planned to involve 1,500 participants in the campaign.

Overview of 2017 campaign: Digital payments awareness and safety

A partner for six previous Get Online Weeks, Telecentre Danmark (known previously as The Association of Danish Senior Citizens) again was the Danish national partner for Get Online Week 2017.

The two main topics for GOW17 campaign in Denmark were Cybersecurity and e-Services. Telecentre-danmark’s goal was to promote the advantages of digital solutions within e-commerce, new methods of payment (with the focus on payment through smartphones) and e-health (e-government). Telecentre-danmark placed focus on practical use, tuition, internet safety as well as legal aspects and rights pertaining to these functions.

Telecentre-danmark produced tuition materials, organized workshops/ conferences for ICT centres and local community groups in collaboration with partners, specifically:

  • produce brohures on safety and security with focus on e-commerce and related digital services
  • focus on digital methods of payments on internet (e-commerce) as well as digital methods for digital payments in shops and related areas;
  • instigate information campaign/seminars on e-government’s e-health services

The target groups were the elder segment of the population, the homeless and other underprivileged groups.

The campaign was promoted through tc-danmark’ internet site, newsletters, YouTube, press releases and TV. All materials were available on www.tc-danmark.dk as well as through local ICT centres.

Together with their partnerswww.e-handel.dk, ICT centres, and various municipalities – Telecentre-danmark was to engage 200 users in the training and reach hundreds of thousands through promotional activities, including a TV programme on the national channel DK4.

Based on the success of GOW16 campaign, Telecentre-danmark created a 30-minute TV programme with a national broadcasting station, DK4. The TV programme paid special focus to the new methods of digital payment. Key actors from the digital industry such as the consumer rights association, e-commerce watchdog, banks and financial organizations, will participate. The programme was estimated to be seen by 1.2 mln viewers.

The TV programme was broadcast  on DK4 channel  every day, during the Get Online Week:

  • Monday, 27th March at 23.30
  • Tuesday, 28th March at 13.30
  • Wednesday,  29th March at 18.00
  • Thursday,  30th March at 17.30
  • Friday, 31st March at 09.10

Overview of GOW16 activities

A partner from the early beginning of GOW, Telecentre Danmark (known previously as The Association of Danish Senior Citizens) was the Danish national partner for Get Online Week 2016.

In 2016, Telecentre-danmark placed focus on trust and confidence, as it was a significant element in all three pillars of the EU Digital Single Market strategy. Telecentre-danmark  provided tuition materials and brochures for ICT centres, engage activity centres, libraries and partners to disseminate as much information as possible.

Telecentre-danmark addressed the social media as a topic. In collaboration with campaign partners, they had applied for national funding to sponsor the production of a national television programme, which tackled trust and confidence and supported the aims of the GOW 2016.
